SMTP only deals with emails that could be rejected by a recipients
server for some technical reason. It doesn't address emails that may
have been received correctly and maybe routed to Junk (frequent
occurrence now with ever changing and more capable SPAM filters), or
just plain not read. Where invoices and payment follow up it is
important that business can prove an email was not only delivered but
opened. Of course a recipient can choose not to respond to a read
receipt request, but why should they?
Hi, using the SMTP details feature may be an alternative solution for you. This will allow you to see which emails have been sent, and you would receive any undelivered email notices direct.

This is important and should be implemented. Too many Suppliers / Customers hide behind I didn't get your email.
This is disappointing to see this will not be implemented. Would have thought this a must these days......
