We have been told that if the client signs up for MTD under their HMRC login we are then not able to submit vat returns on their behalf when logging into their software through connect.
The other cloud software available does not seem to have this restriction. It causes a problem when for one reason or another a clients ask you to file their vat and you cannot unless you obtain their login details and login as them.
I am sorry but I do not entirely understand your comment above.
Clients are able to sign up to MTD and submit themselves in addition to Accountants submitting on their Clients behalf. The process of signing up to MTD is a HMRC related process and therefore unfortunately beyond our control.

you didnt read my comments. "This is also the case where the client cannot submit VAT if the agent signs up to MTD so releasing this closed arrangement would be nice. Having to file for clients where they could easily do it them selves would be a big time saver" Its to difficult for the client to sign up to MTD but submitting VAT isnt. We suffer you dont and you dont even understand the problem
This can be done via the following method:
Create an agent services account if you do not have one already (via HMRC)
Seek authorisation from your client to be their "agent" via your agent services account
Connect your KashFlow Connect account to HMRC using your agent GGW credentials
You should now be able to log into your clients KashFlow account and submit on their behalf
This is also the case where the client cannot submit VAT if the agent signs up to MTD so releasing this closed arrangement would be nice. Having to file for clients where they could easily do it them selves would be a big time saver
