Bulk Orders can be very useful if you have a specific budget allocated to spend with a supplier over a fixed period.

You can place an order for the total amount, and then draw-down from the PO as the relating invoices come in, then at the end of the period, if any of the budget remains at the end of the period then the PO can be closed to remove it from the committed spend.
