Hi,  if you are interested find attached an Excel Macro that will sort downloaded bank statements into the correct format.  With the direct feed disabled  for all banks, you may find this helps.

It removes common problems (2 digit years, commas, full stops, blank lines, etc..) and has been used by a few of our clients.

You set it up once (see the full guide) and save the settings.  From then on, you simply point the downloaded CSV file and it will create a file in the correct format.

I'm aware using a macro from an unknown source is not always advisable, so the macro code is not protected.  if you wish to inspect first, do not enable the macro & activate the 'Developer' tab in Excel.  From there you can click on 'View Code' and you can see it is simply formatting commands with a bit of extra logic.

It will work in all versions of Excel except Office 365 online as it does not run Excel VBA macros (Office 365 desktop works).  If you do not have Excel, a free office package like 'Open Office' is supposed to run Excel macros.

Just been looking into Starling Bank, and I'm thinking about switching to them, as it will save me money.  They are partnered with FreeAgent https://www.starlingbank.com/news/launching-freeagent-business-integration/

It's a shame if there is no furtherance on this!

Nonstarling is about to become a deal breaker for me. Having used kashflow for the last two years I can no longer justify subscribing when I also have to pay banking fees with the banks it supports. Moving to starling is a huge saving in business banking costs. If kashflow can not integrate then I also have to find alternative accounting software :(

This would be a major selling point for KashFlow, to keep on the leading edge

Received a response from Ben at Starling on November 24th 2018, stating:

'Sorry but at this time we don't have any timeframe regarding Kashflow integration. We are always working on new systems like this and working on getting more and more functionality in the app, but for the time being I wouldn't be able to put a timeframe on this for you. I am sorry I can't be more help.'

I too would like to see Starling added. It's getting on for half a year since this conversation was started, let's hope KashFlow can appear up-to-date with small to medium sized modern businesses. I have also asked Starling when it will be implemented at: help@starlingbank.com and am awaiting a response.

Hi, we would like to see this too if possible. Starling say they have not been approached by yourselves to join - "KashFlow hasn't been requested yet so I don't know the likelihood of the prioritisation to implement it" says their Chat Help.

Im surprised to find out they are not supported, will see if they do anything before my Kashflow trial ends.
