Agree this needs sorting. At least just add a 'Draft' or 'Proforma' 'type' of invoice which we can change in the Edit mode and also filter the Invoices page by.
This is not a great solution as our customers often ask for a quote first, then we issue a proforma and turn that into an invoice. We tried renaming 'quotes' to 'proformas' but a lot of customers question why they have been issued a proforma when all they asked for was a price.
You can change the name of "Quotes" to be Proforma in Settings > Quotes. This will work in the same way.
We actively use quotes - this is not a solution for us. We need the option for both. Xero has both options.
