Notes - Ability to edit notes

Notes - Add a note to contact.
Once you add a note to contacts it cannot be edited the only option is to create a new one each time. I think this function should already have been available, not sure why it isn't. Can we please have "Edit Notes" please.

Thanks

    Admin response

Hi Wayne, Thanks for getting in touch. The problem here is that the notes area is not audited in any way, therefore any changes to notes would not be tracked. Hence why we haven't made the notes editable. If we do get a number of requests for this we can certainly look at making a change, but any alteration here would obviously be felt by all of our users, so we must consider this one carefully. Many thanks for your suggestion

Totally agree. This function use to be available in older versions - we lost if when we had to upgrade to handle BREXIT. We always add more information into the automatically generated note . This is a restoration of existing functionality - not a new request.

Still want to be able to edit notes. Such a basic function, come on Kashflow!

This seems ridiculous and a basic function for a notes field we use them extensively in debt chasing. The ability existed in the original KF "Klassic" so why break something that worked?

We also would like to amend and sort notes.
A more refined Notes functionality is a good idea.

This is our issue - We use Zimbra for our emails and wish to cut and paste conversations with in Kashflow, by inserting a note - so they show in date order, would advantageous

Another issue is we will send an invoice/quote etc.... and unless we copy and paste the email into a fresh note and delete the standard tag message - we would loose to content of the message sent - most annoying and labour intensive :-(

    Thanking you in advance

    Kevin

I imported customers from a CSV file and the comments field appears as an editable field below the update button and above the notes field....the trouble is that it does not appear unless there is an imported note and you cannot make it appear when you create a new customer that is not imported.... it would seem a very small tweak to make this appear by default!!!!
