Addition of Date field in Sales Quotes

You have a Delivery Date field in the Purchase Orders table, but no corresponding Date field in the Sales Quotes - this would be a very important and usefull addition (I would say essential addition) - this can be used for providing the customer with a anticipated start date, or could be used to indicate any other relevant date the user wants to attach to the quote.

    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. This seems like a reasonable ask, and I can certainly see why you would want to convey important dates to your client as part of the quotation process.

One thing we would need to consider is whether a "Delivery Date" field could sometimes be ambiguous. For example, if a quote relates to a three-month project, would the delivery date represent the project start date, the final completion date, or perhaps the date of the first deliverable? We would want to carry out some research to ensure that introducing a field like this doesn't create confusion for customers.

In the meantime, you may find it helpful to add comments directly to the quote. Comments can be added in the same way as line items and could be used to communicate delivery dates or project milestones. This may also provide the added benefit of allowing multiple delivery dates to be specified where work is delivered in stages.

We'll certainly take your suggestion into consideration.

    Kind Regards,
