Hi Chris,
This would be a lot of development work, can you tell us why you would like such a feature?
KashFlow works best for small businesses and we do not find that many of our users have so many different department to necessitate this feature.
Sorry for bumping an old post, but this would be a great feature that would vastly improve our workflow. Even as a small business, quotes are given by a different person to someone who deals with invoices (I would expect this to be the case with most businesses). As such, being able to have different reply-to addresses, would be great.
Kashlfow is best for small businesses, agreed, but those small businesses (including my own) do have more than one person and each person has a responsibility. I have an admin/accounts lady, so things like invoices should be sent from her, so any replies are received by her.
Quotes should be sent from my sales guys, so they get the replies. etc etc
Also, a lot of small businesses want to look a bit bigger, make more of an impression on their customers. By having different email types sent from different accounts helps small businesses move away from the appearance of being a 'one man band' which a lot of corporate customers would avoid.
As far as development goes, I think all you need to do is expand the functionality of email templates. So when I create an invoice template for example, I can assign that template as the default for invoice documents. Why not add a field for 'sent from address' here too?
Under the PDF themes options you can currently set a specific template as the default for invoices, emailing of statements etc as you mention. This should help you achieve the requested with regards to templates.
As far as additional email addresses are concerned, this is certainly something that we can take a look at in the long term. The system has never been set up to send from multiple email addresses in this way so there would be significant development involved, but if the feature gains plenty of support I see no reason why we cannot build this in.
I also need this feature - I find it incredible that you say it would be hard to implement.
As a first step, all that is needed is the ability to change the email address at the point of sending documents (invoices, statements, whatever) i.e. exactly the same functionality that already exists for the customer email, cc and bcc.
I think you will find that most of your customers will just find a workaround, but really you should respond to these requests and implement what is clearly not a difficult thing to do (as you have already implemented it for the Customer Email field).
Hi,
We have multi users quoting etc from the system, is there any way that we can set up the outgoing e mail from the system to go from different people depending on whos using it?
As we are whoever sends quotes out any replies go the the default e mail address on the system and sometimes the sender from here doesn’t know there has been a response????
I was wondering if there was any progress with this. We very much need our sales guys to be receiving any replies regarding quotes. The lack of a detailed multi user facility is preventing us from using Kashflow for our full accounts package. We only use it for quote and invoice currently and I'm actively looking at other solutions. Multi user facility would mean we would not only stay but we would probably migrate everything from SAGE.
I would like all quotes and invoices to be emailed from our sales department and all overdue reminders to be sent to our finance department. Kashflow does not allow that currently. The reason being that although we are a small business so to speak, our finance department is based at a different location from our sales team and we do not want to give credit control access to the sales team just yet.
Can you please improve the email facility to allow for multiple email address to be recorded so that sales and quotes are from sales and overdue reminders are to finance. How quickly can this be done?
We would like a feature were each customer could be sent documents from different email addresses. The reason for this, is I would like emails to be sent from the individual account managers if possible, rather than a generic email address, so it feels a bit more personal to the customer.
Just to add, I personally would find this useful for sending from different departments (e.g. Accounts / Sales) as others have requested. But more important for me is simply to be able to change the 'Reply-to' field in the email templates. So even if the origianl emails are all from the same address, if the customer hits 'reply' then it will go to the correct place.
Thanks.
Small businesses can still have different departments or may even have different e-mail accounts to portray an image of being more sizeable!
I think its a great idea and to the contrary, have been told that this would not require a huge amount of development time.
This would be great, though don't think it need to go into too much granular control. Sales elements should come from a sales email, and finance elements from an accounts email.
It would be useful at least to be able to send invoices from accounts@ without having to change the primary contact email address for Kashflow.
Yes please to this feature

Options to change the email address the invoices/PO get sent from.
I really!! need this feature
